Senate Bill 566 Summary

• Creates Kansas State University special license plates for persons wishing to demonstrate support for Kansas State University, designed in consultation with the Kansas State University Alumni Association.

• Authorizes the Tax Commission to enter into a licensing agreement with the Kansas State University Alumni Association with a payment of not more than $20.00 per license plate issued.

• Sets the fee for special license plates at $35.00, apportioned as: $20.00 to the authorized entity, $8.00 to the Oklahoma Tax Commission Reimbursement Fund, and any remaining amounts distributed per Section 1104.

• Applies to all 61 types of special license plates authorized in Oklahoma code, including university/college supporter plates, environmental awareness plates, firefighter plates, and various charitable/organization support plates.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2017.
