SB687 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Section 353.24 to permit delivery of patient-specific filled prescriptions to prescriber clinics under five specific exceptions: for patients without permanent mailing addresses, for drugs requiring special handling, for drugs to be administered at the clinic, for Medicare/Medicaid End Stage Renal Disease patients, and for radiopharmaceuticals.

• Requires the State Board of Pharmacy to promulgate rules requiring facilities receiving prescription deliveries to maintain records of all prescriptions delivered to them.

• Permits pharmacists and pharmacy employees to personally deliver legally filled prescriptions to patient residences, offices, workplaces, or facilities where pharmacy services are received by patients.

• Allows veterinary prescription drugs to be shipped directly from Oklahoma licensed wholesalers or distributors to veterinary clients when prescribed by a licensed veterinarian with an existing veterinary-client-patient relationship.

• Effective November 1, 2017.
