SB 691 Summary

• Amends the Oklahoma Child Care Facilities Licensing Act to permit continuing education and training for child care facility owners, operators, and employees to be conducted online or through other electronic means of communication.

• Maintains existing advisory committee structure with four subcommittees (Residential Children's Services, Child Care Centers, Child Care Homes, and Quality Rating and Improvement System) with specified representation requirements.

• Requires child care centers and family child care homes to prohibit use of soft bedding, toys, or unapproved sleeping equipment for infants.

• Mandates that child care facilities cannot leave children alone in the care of anyone under 18 years of age.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2017.
