SB 732 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Section 509 to add performance of abortion as defined by Section 1-730 of Title 63 to the definition of unprofessional conduct for physicians.

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Section 637 to add performance of abortion as defined by Section 1-730 of Title 63 to grounds for refusal to issue or renew osteopathic physician licenses and for license revocation.

• Amends 63 O.S. 2011, Section 1-731 to prohibit any physician performing or participating in abortion for any purpose other than to preserve the mother's life from obtaining or renewing a medical license in Oklahoma.

• Requires the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and State Board of Osteopathic Examiners to revoke the licenses of allopathic and osteopathic physicians who perform abortions except to preserve the mother's life.

• Effective date: November 1, 2017.
