Commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, created in 1967 by Gov. Dewey Bartlett through the Oklahoma Corrections Act, which established a seven-member Board of Corrections, a state director, and three divisions.

Honors 20 Oklahoma Department of Corrections employees who have died in the line of duty.

Recognizes the Oklahoma Department of Corrections' role in public safety, victim services, court-ordered sentencing, and promoting offender rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Commends the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and its employees, staff, and volunteers for 50 years of dedicated service to the state.

Directs distribution of this resolution to Oklahoma Department of Corrections Director Joe M. Allbaugh and Commissioner of Public Safety Michael C. Thompson.
