Recognizes the importance of hunger relief efforts across Oklahoma, where more than 650,000 residents face food insecurity, including one in four children.

Notes that Tulsa ranks in the top 25 and Oklahoma City ranks in the top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas for food hardship, with one in five residents lacking sufficient money for food.

Acknowledges that the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma distributed over 64 million meals the prior year, primarily to children, seniors, and working families.

States that Oklahoma administers numerous federal food assistance programs to support low-income populations.

Designates February 15, 2017, as Hunger Action Day in Oklahoma and encourages citizens to participate in hunger relief through food and monetary donations, volunteering, and supporting hunger-reduction policies.
