Persons convicted of failure to yield a right-of-way causing fatality or great bodily injury shall be assessed a mandatory fee of $500.00 deposited into the Motorcycle Safety and Education Program Revolving Fund.

Persons convicted of failure to yield causing serious bodily injury may, at the court's discretion, be assessed a fee of $500.00 deposited into the same fund.

Fees collected shall be used to promote public awareness of dangers of driving under the influence and to promote motorcycle safety and defensive driving for youth.

Courts may impose additional penalties including a remedial driving course, loss of driver license for 90 days, or payment of restitution.

The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
