HB 1257 Summary

• Roofing contractors are prohibited from advertising or promising to pay all or part of insurance deductibles or offering to compensate insureds as an inducement to purchase services.

• Any person may file a written verified complaint with the registrar alleging violations of this section, and all filed complaints shall be open to public inspection.

• The registrar must forward all complaints to the Insurance Department and Office of the Attorney General for investigation and prosecution, and to the district attorney for appropriate disposition.

• The registrar is not authorized to investigate or prosecute violations of this section.

• The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
