Creates a new misdemeanor offense for approaching or remaining within 25 feet of a first responder after receiving a verbal warning not to approach, when done with intent to impede, threaten, or harass

Defines "first responder" as peace officers, correctional officers, probation and parole officers, emergency medical technicians, and emergency medical care providers

Defines "harass" as willfully engaging in conduct that intentionally distracts a first responder from official duties and serves no legitimate purpose

Penalties include up to 1 year in county jail, a fine up to $1,000, or both

Effective date: November 1, 2025
