HB 1739 Summary

• Increases employer contribution rates to the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System from 11% to a phased schedule: 12.5% (7/1/2025), 13.5% (7/1/2026), 14.5% (7/1/2027), 15.5% (7/1/2028), and 16.5% (7/1/2029 and thereafter).

• Increases member contribution rates from 8% to 9% of actual paid base salary.

• Adds Attorney General Agents and Military Department Police Officers to positions eligible for top base salary minimum retirement benefit calculations.

• Applies provisions retroactively to members who died in the performance of their duties under Section 2-306, regardless of their service commencement date.

• Effective July 1, 2025, with emergency clause for immediate enactment.
