Amends 10A O.S. 2021, Section 1-4-502 to modify jury trial rights in parental termination cases

Parents, the state, and children shall not have the right to demand a jury trial on termination of parental rights when the initial petition combines a deprivation determination with a termination request, or when termination is requested following an adjudication of deprivation

Jury trials consist of six persons and must commence within 6 months of the scheduling order unless the court issues written findings of exceptional circumstances or parties agree to continuance

A party who requests a jury trial but fails to appear without good cause may be deemed to have waived the right, allowing the case to proceed as a nonjury trial unless another party demands a jury or the court orders otherwise

Effective date is November 1, 2025
