HB 1769 Summary

• Clarifies that school district employees must make annual elections of "major medical health care plan" benefits under the cafeteria plan during the enrollment period from November 1 through December 15.

• Modifies the enrollment period rules to allow employees to enroll in additional benefits offered by the district on dates determined by the district, separate from the major medical plan enrollment period.

• Maintains flexible benefit allowance amounts for certified personnel at no less than 100% of the HealthChoice (Hi) option plan premium (starting fiscal year 2005) and for support personnel at 100% (starting fiscal year 2003).

• Provides that certified personnel who decline participation receive $69.71 per month as taxable compensation and support personnel who decline receive $189.69 per month.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2025.
