HB 1789 Summary

• Exempts areas within municipal, county, or state-owned facilities and county/district/state fair grounds from manufacturer-designated sales responsibility areas for sponsored off-premises sales events only.

• Prohibits dealers promoting their own private off-premises sales event as the sole participating dealer from conducting sales or display of recreational vehicles outside their manufacturer-designated area.

• Authorizes dealers to participate in sponsored recreational vehicle shows (requiring 67% participation of dealers within 60-mile radius) with a $200 sponsoring entity permit and $15 per vehicle dealer permit.

• Permits private recreational vehicle shows with flexible locations (up to 8 per dealer annually, 5 consecutive days maximum, 2.5-mile distance requirement from non-participating dealers on private property, no distance requirement on municipal/county property).

• Allows off-premises display events for promotional purposes only without sales activities, financing negotiations, or sales personnel participation, and requires no permit for display events.

• Effective November 1, 2025.
