HB 1812 Summary

• Establishes eligibility requirements for physicians to supervise Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), including possession of full Oklahoma license, valid DEA and OBNDD permits to prescribe controlled drugs, and training qualified in the APRN's specialty.

• Allows supervising physicians to charge reasonable fees disclosed in a written agreement at fair-market-value hourly rates set biannually by respective boards, with disciplinary action possible for charging fees while failing to provide proper supervision.

• Requires written supervision agreements outlining fees, scope of APRN practice, controlled drug limitations, and supervision extent, which must be filed with the licensing board and updated within 14 days of any changes.

• Defines "proper physician supervision" as routine review of APRN prescribing patterns with physician availability for consultation in-person or by telemedicine within 48 hours.

• Directs State Board of Osteopathic Examiners and State Board of Medical Licensure to promulgate rules, maintain lists of willing supervising physicians, report annual complaints, and levy no fees for supervision relationship tracking; effective November 1, 2025.
