HB 1946 Summary

• Prohibits school district boards of education from entering into or renewing written contracts with certified teachers for periods of time less than one (1) year, unless otherwise allowed by law.

• Makes conforming amendments to Oklahoma Statutes Title 70, Section 6-101 to update subsection references throughout the teacher contract provisions.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2025, with an emergency clause allowing the act to take effect immediately upon passage and approval.
