Commission members must recuse themselves from decision-making if related to an applicant within the third degree of consanguinity or affinity; violation results in immediate removal and permanent ineligibility for future appointment to the Commission.

Commission members must disclose within 10 days of receiving the final application list the date and amount of any contributions made to judicial campaigns of applicants, with forms prescribed by the Administrative Director of the Courts.

Disclosure forms must be posted conspicuously on the Judicial Nominating Commission website and remain accessible until the position has been filled.

For determining eligibility of Oklahoma Bar Association members for Commission appointment or election, the address recorded with the State Election Board shall be used to establish residency.

The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
