HB 2116 Summary

• Amends the Oklahoma Pension Actuarial Analysis Act to classify membership of State Fire Marshal commissioned or CLEET-certified officers in the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System as a nonfiscal retirement bill provision.

• Expands the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System membership to include active commissioned or CLEET-certified officers hired by the Office of the State Fire Marshal on or after November 1, 2025.

• Requires Office of the State Fire Marshal employees participating in the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System to contribute only to that system and two deferred compensation/savings plans, excluding other Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System options.

• Designates the Office of the State Fire Marshal as a participating employer in the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System for all eligible commissioned or CLEET-certified officers.

• Section 1 effective October 1, 2025; Sections 2 and 3 effective November 1, 2025.
