HB 2292 Summary

• Declares that present and past presidents of the United States have the right to register to vote and cast ballots in federal, state, county, or municipal elections in Oklahoma under Title 26, Section 4-101 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Grants presidents and former presidents of the United States the right to possess any firearm or other weapon and to carry a handgun, concealed or unconcealed, pursuant to the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act or as otherwise permitted by law.

• Provides immunity from criminal prosecution for presidents and former presidents for alleged violations of subsection A of Section 1283 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2025.
