Rental agreements for self-service storage facilities may now be delivered and accepted electronically.

Occupants are deemed to have accepted a rental agreement if they fail to sign it within 30 days of delivery (by hand, mail, or electronic mail if agreed) and instead pay rent or continue using the storage space.

Facility owners may tow vehicles, watercraft, or trailers after 60 days of default without liability once the towing company takes possession.

Property abandoned for 30 days or longer may be disposed of by the owner after providing written notice by certified mail or verified mail, with disposal allowed 15 days after the owner receives the return receipt or notice of non-delivery.

The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
