Oklahoma Secure Roads and Safe Trucking Act of 2025 (SB 20)

• Non-domiciled commercial driver license holders must possess valid work visas and provide proof of citizenship (birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or valid passport).

• All commercial motor vehicle operators must possess either a valid U.S. commercial driver license or a valid commercial license from Canada, Mexico, or nations with reciprocal agreements, accompanied by valid work visa and citizenship proof.

• Commercial motor vehicle operators must demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete required reports.

• Violations subject commercial motor carriers to fines of $3,000 per violation (deposited to Weigh Station Improvement Revolving Fund) and drivers to fines up to $1,000 or up to 90 days imprisonment, with fines deposited to Trauma Care Assistance Revolving Fund.

• Emergency clause declares the act effective immediately upon passage and approval.
