SB372 Summary

• Amends 21 O.S. 2021, Section 1277 to clarify where firearms can and cannot be carried in Oklahoma, modifying the scope of lawful carry for handgun license holders and other lawful firearm possessors.

• Permits concealed carry of handguns on public property set aside temporarily for events without minimum-security provisions, limited to concealed carry unless the event permit holder authorizes otherwise.

• Allows concealed handgun carry on state-owned hotels, cabins, and lodges, and permits concealed handgun carry at municipal zoos or parks owned/managed by public trusts or nonprofit entities (but prohibits open carry in those locations).

• Modifies exceptions for elected county officials and certain court employees to carry concealed handguns in courthouses while performing duties, with restrictions on carrying into courtrooms or detention areas.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2025.
