Law enforcement must notify the superintendent and board of education when a public school, charter school, or virtual charter school employee is being investigated for, arrested for, or charged with sexual abuse or sexual exploitation offenses against students

School boards must immediately suspend the employee without notice or hearing pending the investigation outcome, with suspension potentially extending through trial adjudication (but not appeals)

Suspended employees retain full compensation and benefits but are prohibited from being on school premises and cannot submit their resignation during the suspension period

Superintendents must notify all parents and legal guardians of enrolled students about the investigation, with the notification required to include a statement that the employee is presumed innocent until proven guilty

Effective date is July 1, 2025, with an emergency clause allowing immediate implementation upon passage
