Municipally owned public utilities must waive all fees, deposits, monthly rates, and other payment requirements for widowed spouses of law enforcement officials, firefighters, or police officers killed in the line of duty while employed by the municipality.

Widowed spouses must submit documentation prescribed by the municipal utility to establish eligibility, including a death certificate.

The law is codified as Section 35-108 of Title 11 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
