Amends 17 O.S. 2021, Section 801.5 to establish natural gas as the preferred fuel source for new fossil fuel generating facilities in Oklahoma.

Declares it is in the public interest to promote natural gas energy development to leverage the state's vast natural gas resources and compatibility with wind energy.

Requires that new fossil fuel generating facilities and added capacity to existing fossil fuel generating facilities built in the state be powered by natural gas, with an exception allowing entities to choose other fossil fuels if they demonstrate it serves the best interest of electric consumers.

Takes effect July 1, 2025, with an emergency clause declaring the act effective immediately upon passage and approval.
