Enrolled Senate Bill No. 53 - Summary

• Replaces the term "child pornography" with "child sexual abuse material" throughout Oklahoma Statutes Title 15 (definitions), Title 21 (criminal code), and related sections for consistency and more appropriate terminology.

• Updates multiple criminal statutes related to child sexual exploitation, possession, and distribution offenses to use the new terminology, including sections addressing child abuse (21 O.S. Section 843.5), possession of sexual abuse material (21 O.S. Section 1040.12a), and definitions (21 O.S. Section 1024.1).

• Maintains all existing penalties, definitions, and criminal prohibitions while standardizing language across relevant statutory sections.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2025.
