Municipal governing bodies may authorize special elections for municipal bond issuances or tax questions on state or federal election days in November in odd- or even-numbered years.

Board of education elections for bond issuances must be held on state or federal election days in November in odd- or even-numbered years, conducted by the county election board.

Both municipal and school district elections must include notice published in a newspaper of general circulation at least 10 days before the election.

The four-month waiting period between defeated bond elections does not apply when school facilities have been destroyed by an act of God.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2025, with an emergency clause allowing immediate effect upon passage and approval.
