SB670 Summary

• Requires physicians, physician assistants, osteopathic physicians, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to provide evidence-based mental health screening instruments to patients during routine primary care visits, with the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and related boards establishing rules and educational materials for implementation.

• Mandates all regulated health care providers complete at least one (1) hour of continuing education in pain management or opioid use/addiction annually and one (1) hour in integrated behavioral health care, with exemptions available for providers without active Drug Enforcement Administration registration.

• Allows the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision to impose nondisciplinary fines up to $1,000 for failure to meet continuing medical education requirements within the allotted time.

• Authorizes the State Boards of Medical Licensure, Osteopathic Examiners, and the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to collaborate on developing screening instruments, rules, and educational materials.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2025.
