SB 676 Summary

• Amends the Suicide Prevention Act to require the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to electronically submit annual evaluation reports to legislative leaders and the Governor by July 1 each year.

• Extends the sunset date for the State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2025, and updates statutory language regarding board member appointment and organization.

• Repeals the Oklahoma Suicide Prevention Council (43A O.S. 2021, Section 12-104).

• Repeals six additional boards and commissions: Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Advisory Council, Oklahoma School for the Visual and Performing Arts provisions, permanent legislative liaison committee, Senate Staff Review Committee, and Oklahoma Merit Protection Commission.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2025, with emergency clause for immediate effect upon passage and approval.
