• Modifies the timeframe for setting hearings on temporary orders in dissolution of marriage cases by changing language from "of filing" to "from the date that the application for a temporary order is presented to the court for scheduling by the moving party."

• When domestic abuse is not alleged, courts must schedule substantive hearings on temporary orders within 30 days of application presentation and moving party must provide at least 5 days' notice.

• When domestic abuse is alleged and specific conditions are met, courts must set hearings within 10 days of application presentation with 5 days' notice to the other party, and must conduct substantive hearings on custody, visitation, child support, and property matters.

• Maintains automatic temporary injunction provisions that take effect upon filing a dissolution petition, including restrictions on asset transfer, property damage, insurance changes, and child relocation without written consent or court order.

• Declares an emergency, making the act effective immediately upon passage and approval.
