School district boards and charter school governing boards must display the Ten Commandments in each classroom by January 1, 2026, on a poster or framed document at least 11 by 14 inches with large, easily readable font.

The display must include the specified text of the Ten Commandments and a context statement detailing the historical role of the Ten Commandments in American public education, including use in the New England Primer and McGuffey Readers.

Schools may also display the Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence, and Northwest Ordinance alongside the Ten Commandments.

Displays must be provided free of charge through donated funds or donated displays; the State Department of Education shall identify and publish free resources to comply.

Institutions within The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education must display the Ten Commandments in each classroom by January 1, 2026, under the same requirements; the State Board of Education and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education shall promulgate implementing rules.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2025, and is declared an emergency measure.
