Defines "county employee" as any person employed by a county, including appointed persons or employees of firms contracting with a county.

Creates a misdemeanor offense for committing assault, battery, or assault and battery upon a county employee during performance of duties, punishable by up to 1 year in county jail, a fine not to exceed $1,000, or both.

Creates a felony offense for committing aggravated battery or aggravated assault and battery upon a county employee, punishable by up to 2 years in the Department of Corrections, a fine not to exceed $5,000, or both.

Requires every county site to post a prominent notice warning that felony charges may be filed against persons committing aggravated assault or battery upon county employees.

Effective date is November 1, 2025.
