Mandatory $500 fee required for failure to yield convictions that cause a fatality or great bodily injury, changed from a discretionary fee of up to $1,000

Discretionary $500 fee may be assessed for failure to yield convictions causing serious bodily injury (defined as serious but less severe than great bodily injury or fatality)

All fees deposited into the Motorcycle Safety and Education Program Revolving Fund to promote awareness of impaired driving dangers and motorcycle safety for youth

Courts may impose additional penalties including a remedial driving course, 90-day driver license suspension, or restitution
