The Board is responsible for the collection, preservation, storage, distribution, and final disposition of dead human bodies used for health science education and research

Board membership includes deans from accredited medical and osteopathic schools, anatomy department heads, two representatives from higher education institutions with approved programs requiring human anatomical materials, and one at-large member appointed by the Governor
