Adjunct teachers employed full-time by a school district for two school years must obtain or begin the process to obtain standard, alternative placement, or emergency certification before starting their third year of full-time employment

Currently, adjunct teachers with distinguished qualifications in their field are not required to meet standard certification requirements

Adjunct teachers without valid teaching certificates are not considered "teachers" under Oklahoma law's definition

The bill amends Section 6-122.3 of Title 70 regarding alternative placement teaching certificates

Effective date is July 1, 2025, with an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval
