Reduces the timeframe for submitting a "timely" prior authorization request for continuation of inpatient acute care from 72 hours to 24 hours before the previously approved authorization expires

Prior authorizations for non-inpatient chronic condition treatment must remain valid for at least 6 months from approval date

Prior authorizations for inpatient acute care for chronic conditions must remain valid for at least 14 calendar days from approval date

Health plans must continue paying providers at contracted rates if the utilization review entity fails to respond to a timely continuation request before the approved stay ends, or if a denial is appealed
