School districts must conduct annual fitness assessments for students in grades 3-12 beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, administered during physical education courses by trained personnel including nurses, PE teachers, and coaches

Assessments must measure aerobic capacity, body composition, and muscular strength/endurance/flexibility using criterion-referenced standards specific to student age and gender

Districts must report anonymized results annually to the State Board of Education and State Department of Health, with individual results provided to parents/guardians and submitted to the student's health insurance provider by the end of each school year

State agencies must analyze assessment data for correlations with student obesity, attendance, academic achievement, disciplinary problems, and school meal programs

State Board of Education must submit annual compliance reports to the Governor starting October 1, 2026, and the Governor may establish recognition programs with monetary or other incentives for districts showing the most improvement
