Landlords, owners, and operators of apartments and hotels must require all employees to undergo background screening through a consumer reporting agency, including criminal history and sexual offender registries from all 50 states and D.C.

Employers may disqualify applicants convicted of felonies or first-degree misdemeanors involving disregard for others' safety, or violent crimes including murder, sexual battery, robbery, carjacking, home-invasion robbery, and stalking

Apartments and hotels must maintain logs tracking the issuance and return of all dwelling unit keys and establish written policies for key management and storage

Hotels are prohibited from offering hourly rates for accommodations, with an exemption for late checkout fees
