OK HB1985

Eliminates straight-party voting in Oklahoma, requiring voters to select individual candidates rather than marking a single party choice to vote for all candidates of that party

Amends 26 O.S. 2021, Sections 7-119 and 7-127 to remove references to voting by party choice and remove the rule that counted a party marking as votes for all of that party's candidates

Removes the provision that allowed individual candidate markings to take precedence over party-line votes when both were marked

Effective date of November 1, 2025
