Commissioned or CLEET-certified officers hired by the Office of the State Fire Marshal on or after July 1, 2026 will participate in the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System (OLERS) instead of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System

The Office of the State Fire Marshal becomes a participating employer in OLERS for all commissioned or CLEET-certified officers hired after the effective date

Affected State Fire Marshal employees may still participate in the Oklahoma State Employees Deferred Compensation Plan and Deferred Savings Incentive Plan, but not other OPERS retirement plans

Declared an emergency measure, taking effect immediately upon passage and approval
