Enacts the Uniform Collaborative Law Act, establishing a formal process for parties to resolve disputes outside of court using collaborative lawyers who must withdraw if the process fails and litigation begins

Requires collaborative law participation agreements to be in writing, signed by all parties, describe the dispute, and identify each party's collaborative lawyer

Disqualifies collaborative lawyers and their law firm associates from representing parties in subsequent litigation related to the collaborative matter, with limited exceptions for emergency orders or low-income clients

Creates a privilege protecting collaborative law communications from discovery and admission as evidence, with exceptions for threats of violence, criminal activity, or claims of professional misconduct

Requires lawyers to assess whether collaborative law is appropriate for each client and inquire about any history of coercive or violent relationships between parties before beginning the process
