Notaries public authorized to notarize more than 20 absentee ballot affidavits per election must submit a copy of their log to the county election board secretary within 5 business days after the election

Notary logs become public records and must be maintained by the county election board

Notaries who fail to submit required logs or notarize more than 20 absentee ballots without authorization will have their notary appointment revoked for 8 years by the Secretary of State

Willful violations of notary restrictions on absentee ballots constitute a misdemeanor punishable by fines up to $500
