Primary elections for federal, state, and county officers moved from the third Tuesday in June to the first Tuesday in March of each even-numbered year

Runoff primary elections moved from the fourth Tuesday of August to the third Tuesday of June in the same year

Candidate filing period changed to begin the first Monday in December of odd-numbered years through the following Wednesday, rather than the first Wednesday in April of even-numbered years

Political party affiliation changes prohibited from December 1 of odd-numbered years through June 30 of the following even-numbered year, replacing the previous April 1 through August 31 blackout period

Supplemental candidate filing period established for newly formed political parties in the first week of April in even-numbered years, with candidates automatically becoming the party's nominee for the General Election; effective date January 1, 2027
