Physician assistants with 6,240 or more hours of postgraduate clinical practice experience may practice independently without physician supervision after reporting those hours to the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision

Physician assistants with fewer than 6,240 hours must continue practicing under a delegating physician with a written practice agreement on file with the Board

Expands the Physician Assistant Committee from 7 to 9 members, adding two additional physician assistant members appointed from the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants

Physician assistants not practicing under a practice agreement must carry malpractice insurance of at least $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate annually, or demonstrate equivalent financial responsibility

Adds physician assistants to the list of licensed practitioners authorized to prescribe dangerous drugs and controlled substances (Schedules II-V), and authorizes them to complete medical certification portions of death certificates
