Paraprofessionals with a bachelor's degree in education or education studies who have been in the classroom within the past 10 years are exempt from additional professional education coursework requirements under the State Board of Education's career development program

Teachers with a bachelor's degree in education or education studies are exempt from additional professional education coursework requirements for obtaining, renewing, or meeting professional development requirements for emergency, alternate placement, or standard teaching certificates, provided they have been in the classroom within the past 10 years

School districts may extend existing contracts with paraprofessionals to continue paying compensation while the paraprofessional completes student teaching in the same district

Effective date is July 1, 2025, with an emergency clause allowing immediate effect upon passage and approval

Amends 70 O.S. 2021, Section 6-127A and creates new Section 6-213 of Title 70
