Removes the prohibition on carrying firearms in city, town, county, or state government buildings and office spaces used for conducting business with the public

Eliminates the provision allowing city or town governing bodies to authorize concealed carry in their owned or leased buildings

Adds a new restriction allowing handgun carry (both open and concealed) at municipal zoos and parks operated by public trusts or nonprofit entities, reversing the previous rule that only allowed concealed carry

Maintains existing prohibitions on firearms in courthouses, prisons, jails, detention facilities, schools, sports arenas during professional events, substance abuse/mental health facilities, and gambling establishments

Effective date: November 1, 2026
