Transfers oversight of alternative teacher preparation programs from the State Board of Education to the Commission for Educational Quality and Accountability, removing the pilot program designation and July 1, 2026 expiration date to make the program permanent

Requires the Commission to approve or deny provider applications within 60 days, provide written reasons for denials, and give providers an opportunity to remedy deficiencies

Expands eligible providers to include school districts, regional education service agencies, higher education institutions, and private or not-for-profit entities that are or will become accredited within 3 years

Mandates the Commission develop and coordinate a public awareness program to inform potential teachers about approved providers, with program costs and requirements posted on the State Board of Education website

Adds completion of an alternative teacher preparation program as a pathway to earn standard certification through the alternative placement teaching certificate process, requiring candidates to complete certification within 3 years
