Crime victims or their representatives may request review of proposed plea agreements in felony cases before a special judge or associate district judge accepts them

District attorneys must provide victims with reasonable notice of proposed plea agreements and the date, time, and place of court consideration upon request

When a victim requests review, special judges and associate district judges cannot accept the plea; the agreement must be submitted to the district court judge for independent review and final determination

The provision does not grant victims party status, impair prosecutorial discretion, or create a right to appeal plea agreement merits
