Increases required professional corrections experience for Director of the Department of Corrections from 5 years to 10 years

Establishes a fixed 5-year term for the Director, replacing the current "at the pleasure of the Governor" arrangement

Removes the Governor's authority to remove or replace the Director without cause

Allows the Director to serve multiple terms with reappointment by the Governor and Senate confirmation

Requires a two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers to remove the Director from office
