Registered candidates may file civil suits in the name of the State of Oklahoma to enforce state election laws when proper government officers refuse, fail, or neglect to prosecute violations

Written demand must be made to the proper officer within 1 year of discovering evidence of an election law violation, and the civil suit must be filed within 6 months of the officer's failure to act

Successful plaintiffs receive 30% of any fines or compensation awarded, with the remaining 70% going to the State of Oklahoma

Prevailing registered candidates may recover reasonable attorney fees and court costs, provided total compensation does not exceed the state's fine revenue from the case
