Removes the requirement to serve notice on family members (father, mother, spouse, next of kin) and file affidavits with proof of service in competency determination proceedings

Extends the deadline for scheduling jury trials in competency hearings from 72 hours to 30 days after the request is made

Authorizes courts to order the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services or treating physicians to prescribe and administer medications, including injectable medications, for competency restoration

Requires the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to submit written reports to the court every 30 days on the defendant's competency status, replacing the previous "periodic reports" requirement
